Summary

– 150 Personal Assistants trained in Humanized Care through 7 courses held in the Departments of
Montevideo, Lavalleja and Salto.
– National survey of the dependent population, carried out by Mides in coordination with the BPS with the
support of Astur and UN-Women, to define the scope of training needs in
care
– Study to deepen policies aimed at the elderly.
– Feasibility study for the creation of a Regional Training Center for Caregivers of the Elderly.
– Care Manual, curricula and validated methodology (which remained as an input for the National Care
System).
– Support to the BPS for the installation of the Telecare Program in Uruguay (carrying out a pilot experience
and financing the arrival of the Spanish Red Cross)

Components and Activities

  • Training of caregivers (Montevideo and provinces).

  • Study to deepen policies aimed at the elderly.

  • Care Manual, validation of the training curriculum of the National Integrated Care System (SNIC) and development of methodology.

  • Support to the Social Security Bank for the installation of the Teleassistance Program in Uruguay.
